Weedmaps wins: Diversity & Inclusion Award from M4MM
By WM Communications Team
In early 2022, the group Minorities for Medical Marijuana (M4MM) awarded Weedmaps as their corporate 2021 Diversity and Inclusion Champion of the Year award. The annual honor, which recognizes corporate, non-profit, and individual winners in the Diversity and Inclusion category, highlights a company’s contributions to diversity and equity within the cannabis community for the previous year.
“We are honored that Weedmaps has been recognized by Minorities for Medical Marijuana for our commitment to fairness, justice and equity in the cannabis marketplace, alongside several impactful organizations uplifting the community,” said Candy Angel, Manager, Corporate Social Responsibility for Weedmaps. “We will continue to support social equity business owners as they enter the cannabis space to ensure the growth of a diverse and inclusive cannabis industry.”
Weedmaps was honored alongside non-profit winner Last Prisoner Project, and “independent trailblazer” Roll Up Life, Inc, co-founders Tiyahn Bryant and Precious Osagie-Erese. Other nominees in the corporate category included Eaze, Hawthorne, Green Thumb Industries, and Viola.
The annual M4MM diversity and inclusion Awards recognize cannabis organizations and individuals for their leadership efforts and initiatives in diversity and inclusion, as well as their work providing resources to the community.
